Kahawai

Kind sometimes and fierce at times
Aggressive at your bait oh no it snapped my line.
Happy feelings come when I eat it.
Always remember to check your bait.
Watch the line encase a fish gets on.
Anchor the boat at the right spot.
Impatient fishing won't get you a fish.

Room 5's Prayers

On Monday Room 5 was on prayers .We didn't do too much but we did great😉. It was awesome!!!

Room 5's Assembly

Last week on Friday it was Room 5's assembly our assembly was about stereotypes! We did great. We did a play and a dance about it as well look!!!

Our Marae Visit

On Wednesday Good Shepherd School went to a Marae for a visit. We had a great time, we got told stories and had a great morning tea, and the year 5's & 6's did a Haka.

We did great!!!

How to Make a Kawhai Cake

Ingredients: -2 teaspoons of sugar -1 teaspoon of salt -1 teaspoon of pepper -1 whole a kawhai -1 tablespoon of T sauce -5 whole green chilies

Recipe: STEP 1: Put everything in blender at once, start blending for 1 minute. STEP 2: Shape cake to any shape and set freezer to -12c then put cake in freezer for 1 hour. STEP 3: Set oven to 60c then place cake in oven for 50 minutes.  STEP 4: Take out of oven, wait for 5 minutes and walaa you can eat now!!!

Maths Week

This week it's maths week and we went on a special website during maths called maths week, there were games like maths millionaire

it was really fun!!!

My Ocean Poster

In room 5 we have been making ocean posters like the

Atlantic ocean, the Pacific ocean, the Indian ocean and the Southern ocean. I did the Atlantic ocean and I'll show you mine

here it is!!!

Science

In room 5 for science we ice and put die on them then after we got to smash the ice.

Science in van

At good shepherd we had science in a van it was really fun. They put special ice inside a pump bottle with the lid off and it made a cloud!

Our Pixel Fish Slide

Me and my 2 friends have made a slide of our pixel fish. 

We made them out of squares and rectangles on google draw and it looks like this!

Book Week

It was Book Week a few weeks ago and on the

last day every one dressed up as a book character

I dressed up as Bret McKenzie from the book "Oh Boy".

There was a big school character intro on Friday. 

Cross Country

At Good shepherd we had cross country and I got 9th place

Level 2 Badge

At Good Shepherd school all the year 6's are running a club for their level 2 badge, I'm running an Animating club with my

friend Liam.

Chess Power Clusters Tournament

This week some of the seniors went to a chess tournament on Tuesday

and I got into the top 10% of everyone there.

Today Good shepherd went to a chess tournament, I was in team Good shepherd D and I won 2 games, lost 3 and tied 1

everyone did great.

Room 5 Assembly

In room 5 we did an assembly based on Anzac day,

everyone did amazing.

Prodigy

In Room 5 we have been playing a maths game called prodigy, you can earn a lot of stuff that you can use to buy cool things.

Epic

In Room 5 we have been playing a Reading game called Epic, you can choose books to read and listen to audio books.

NoRedInk

In Room 5 we have been using a website called NoRedInk, we have to choose what we want the questions to be about in the assignments.

Growth Mindset

In Room 5 we have been doing Growth Mindset and we all got to colour in and answer questions on a piece of paper then when we had all finished, we put all of the pictures in place so it looked like this!

On shove Tuesday Room 5 went to Room 1 to make pancakes that are super delicious

Swimming Sports

On Wednesday we had  swimming sports at west wave it was really fun I came 3rd place in the 25 meter backstroke and 50 meter freestyle, everyone did a great job.

Year 6 camp

At camp this year we did heaps of really fun activities like archery and giant paddle boarding.
Everyone did amazing!!!
